Hi Snow Sisters!
Due to tonight’s cold weather and predicted windchill values of -38, we will have to postpone the Snow Sisters ski clinic (we skiers are a hardy bunch, but -38 is a bit much!).
Based on the dates that we have booked Windsor Park Nordic centre, here is the new plan:
(1) Our main goal is to host a quality event, so we will hold the race Tuesday Jan. 10th as planned.
I will send out a map of the race course in the next day or so for
those of you who are interested in knowing the course before hand. The
weather looks like it will be warmer on the 10th. We have fantastic
finisher prizes (trust me- they are good ones this year!), lots of draw
prizes thanks to our sponsors, food, hot chocolate, music, lights and
even an announcer lined up, so this will be a great night of skiing.
(2) We will use the backup date of Tuesday Jan. 17th to
host our ski clinic for those of you who can make it. We’re sorry for
the inconvenience, but want to ensure that we get the race in, while
working with the weather we have. We will have a technique lesson and
will go over tips on “how to ski various terrain.” (i.e. what technique
to use where).
